Hi, I'm Jennifer.

I’m a pastor, speaker, and author who believes if you aren’t growing, you’re dying. My calling is helping believers and leaders build faith that holds up in real life, and systems that let the work God gave them last.

My story

A woman nobody knew

Before I ever served in ministry, I was a woman nobody knew. After a fire took nearly everything I owned, I walked through a long, hidden season of rebuilding: finishing school, working, waiting, and sensing God wanted me to stay right where I was. He saw me there before I’d surrendered a thing.

Later, ready to pack up and leave the city, I found a church on page 11 of a Google search. Four Sundays in, I went home and started unpacking my boxes. It was a prophetic act: my hands declaring what my mouth was too scared to say. God, I trust You more than my plan.

Most Wednesdays I’d arrive before Bible study, sit in the dark sanctuary, and say, “Lord, I’m here for You.” Then I noticed the church’s website was broken. I emailed and offered to fix it, paid or not. Around email 26, they said yes. I’ve been serving ever since: from administrative coordinator, to executive director, to ordained pastor in 2023, and now Operations Pastor.

What I carry

Somewhere in a long, hard season of ministry, God asked me a question: Who are you doing this for, and why? The answer changed my life.

My name is Jennifer Ellen Dowe, and I live for an Audience of One. His name is Jesus Christ.

That’s the heart of everything I teach.

The same gift that made me email a church 26 times about a broken website has shaped my whole career: I see what’s broken, and I build the system that fixes it.

I founded my consulting practice, now DoBetterCo, in 2007, and for nearly two decades I’ve helped organizations run better: logistics companies, arts and media businesses, a 300-member entrepreneur network, a fully remote tech team, and one of the largest school districts in the country.
